Tauranga Riding for the Disabled (RDA) is an incorporated, charitable organisation established in 1975 and is one of 56 independent RDA groups within NZ. We assist disabled, at-risk and socially disadvantaged people from Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty regions by providing equestrian therapy, horse care and equine assisted therapy.
We are a registered charity – our Charities Commission Registration number is cc29867. We have a board of trustee with seven members, eight part-time staff and operate with the assistance of more than 75 volunteers.
We have a Foundation Board with a five-member board of trustees that was established in 2012 to manage bequests and invest and manage funds to secure the future sustainability of Tauranga RDA
We have 15 therapy horses at our 15 acre facility at 44 Ngapeke Rd, RD 5 Welcome Bay,Tauranga
