Tom Roper
Tom Roper

Tom Roper is a local business man who is a director of a number of successful companies but continues to make time to act as a Trustee for a number of Charitable Trusts and non-profit organisations in our community.

Tom was a Trustee for the Tauranga RDA Arena Charitable Trust and played a significant role in raising funds to ensure the completion of the Arena.

The skills of the individual Trustees selected for the board of the Tauranga RDA Foundation are well proven and Tom believes these people will work well together to assist the sustainability of Tauranga RDA in the future.

Tony Mills
Tony Mills

Tony has a Bachelors Degree in Engineering and has been involved in the construction industry for some 30 years.  His role at Carrus Corporation is Project Manager for the Bay of Plenty and Central North Island Region and is responsible for completion of projects to time frame and budget.

He is the Past President of the New Zealand Contractors Federation and has had a business relationship with Paul Adams for over 35 years.

He has acted as trustee of the Tauranga RDA Arena Charitable Trust, Acorn Foundation, and Foundation for Youth Development in the past.

Peter Farmer
Peter Farmer

Peter Farmer is the founder of Farmer Motor Group, the Bay of Plenty's leading motor vehicle dealer.

He is also Chairman of Bay Venues (Tauranga City Council Controlled Organisation), which operates all the region's key Sporting and Recreation Venues.

Also for the past eight years he has been a Board Member of Waipuna Hospice (Deputy Chairman), and Trustee and Director of many Tauranga Community Organisations.

He is also on the Board of the NZ Motor Trade Association (MTA).

Peter is married to Dianne.

Bill Chapman
Bill Chapman

Partner - Sharp Tudhope

Bill is a partner in the Commercial team, and Chairman of Partners of the firm. He has been a partner in Sharp Tudhope since 1990, after nine years at a law firm in Whakatane.

Bill advises companies, trusts and individual clients on a range of commercial legal matters, including business and property transactions, shareholder agreements, capital raising and commercial contracts. 

Janine Hellyer

Director - BDO Chartered Accountants & Business Advisors

Janine has over 17 years of experience in Chartered Accountancy and Business Advisory Services. Her specialty is tax planning and business consulting, with particular expertise and passion in the property and restructuring areas. With extensive accounting and taxation experience, Janine regularly provides well-planned, strategic assistance to growing businesses, designed to future-proof their interests.

Janine’s work portfolio includes asset protection, succession planning and reviewing legal documents. She has clients in retail, manufacturing, hotels and transport so is strict on risk management across the supply chain. On the property side, Janine regularly works with clients in commercial property assisting in renegotiating leases, build-for-lease developments, dealing with subdivisions and advising clients on the risk associated with property purchases and sales.

Education is a passion for Janine. She is involved in the ownership of a private training organisation that provides alternative education for young people who have been ejected from the college scene, training them for specific roles in the workforce.

She is well supported by a team of qualified accountants and administrators who are ready and able to assist clients
